HEC Chairman visits PUCIT

LAHORE: (Saturday, April 4, 2026): The Chairman of the Higher Education Commission, Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, visited the Artificial Intelligence Lab at the Punjab University College of Information Technology (PUCIT) here on Saturday. On this occasion PU VC Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali, Dean FCIT Prof Dr Shahzad Sarwar and others were present. During the visit, the Chairman was given a comprehensive briefing on the ongoing research, innovation initiatives, and development projects. Dr Niaz Ahmad Akhtar appreciated the efforts of PUCIT in fostering a research-driven environment and emphasized the critical role of AI in shaping the future of higher education and industry. He reaffirmed HEC’s support for initiatives that promote innovation, interdisciplinary research, and skill development aligned with global technological trends. PU VC Dr. Muhammad Ali expressed gratitude for the Chairman’s visit and reiterated the University’s commitment to strengthening research infrastructure and producing graduates equipped to meet emerging challenges in the digital era.
